The easy way to qualify financially for chapter 7 bankruptcy (i.e. without doing the means test) is by being under the median income. Despite inflation and low unemployment, the census bureau has determined that the median income for these household sizes has changed as follows:
One person household: -$2,003 (from $71,643 to $69,640)
Two person household: -$802 (from $90,946 to $90,144)
Three person household: -$1,484 (from $ 114,267 to $112,783)
Four person household: -$5,031 (from $141,324 to $136,293)
For each additional household member above four, add $9,900.
