A recent Star Tribune article indicates that divorce-related internet searches are up since COVID started in March. While it’s not based on actual filing data (and in MN, many divorces aren’t filed until well after they are served or negotiated), it seems to echo the anecdotal evidence by many of my colleagues. It hypothesizes that even though quarantining may not have caused divorce, it has forced people to decide if they can stand to be around this person the rest of their life.
I’ve been practicing divorce law for over 30 years, and specialize in low-conflict, affordable solutions, for both men and women. I do this by avoiding cases involving contested custody, which are almost never low-conflict or affordable. If debt issues are an issue in the marriage, we can look at bankruptcy options as well.
