You can get your official free credit report from www.annualcreditreport.com . You are entitled to obtain one free report from each of the three major credit bureaus on an annual basis. The one that is easiest to read is Experian.
You cannot rely on your credit report to be the be-all and end-all of your credit history. While it will show also most all revolving debt, such as credit cards, as well as loans and public records such as judgments and bankruptcies, it usually won’t show other debts, such as medical bills, bad checks, utilities, fitness clubs dues, etc. so you need to do a reality check with the bills you are actually getting.
