How do I get a free credit report?

On Behalf of | Jan 24, 2014 | Credit Repair, Firm News

You can get your official free credit report from www.annualcreditreport.com. You are entitled to obtain one free report from each of the three major credit bureaus on an annual basis. The one that is easiest to read is Experian.  www.freecreditreport.com is actually a for-profit business where they make you sign up for a credit monitoring service, and probably not where we’d recommend you go.

You cannot rely on your credit report to be the be-all and end-all of your credit history. While it will show almost all revolving debt, such as credit cards and loans as well as public records such as judgments and bankruptcies, it usually won’t show other debts, such as most medical bills, bad checks, utilities, fitness clubs dues, etc. so you need to do a reality check with the bills you are actually getting.

One option we offer our clients for $35, is the ability to get a 3-bureau report merged directly into your bankruptcy petition, without having to enter all of that information for us.
